heard they can get up to a 5,000 lbs. check out the last link with the info about half way down the page.they look like a dinosaur with fins. the only thing about the time we were there is that we missed the great white by two or three weeks. that aquarium kicks a**. http://www.oceanlight.com/html/mola_mola.html http://www.earthwindow.com/mola.html http://www.oceansunfish.org/lifehistory.html |
The otters always seem to be performing. IIRC, they often go insane from doing the same thing over and over and over, every day.
I have seen pics of ocean sunfish, and I believe I saw one at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport last month. Strange looking fish for sure. I did have the privilege of walking through the shark tank (there's a glass tunnel going directly through the tank), so I was able to see various sharks up close from every angle...very cool.

Here are a few pictures I just snapped....No fantastic photography, and pardon the funny exposure on some of them. Still trying to figure out the in's and out's of photography.

Sorry I am in Pa. was down in that area to visit a relative this summer. I remember when there was only one bridge going across the bay. nice to see the second one for sure. been over it a bunch of times but it still amazes me how they did it. saw a show on tv that said the second bridge had a variation of only like 2inches along the whole span, that is simply amazing. not familar with Ashburn. how far from Va Beach is it ? some nice views down your way, the fising is pretty dang good also | |
