I've seen them perform 2-3 times, just awesome each time. The C-130 JATO (jet assisted take-off) demo is also incredibly cool.

Great pics Mike, thanks for sharing them!

A few years ago, in Reading PA, they must have been using our office building as a reference point. They were making their turns repeatedly right over our parking lot. You could see the pilot's face behind his shield. VERY cool! One of the guys in the office was a retired navy fighter pilot, we couldn't pull him away from the window!

There's an awesome documentary on the History Channel about it. What a marvel of engineering. I believe it is the only US aircraft used in hostile environments that has never been shot down.

Nice, I've been watching them at school all week. Did you hear that the traffic centers were getting calls for downed planes yesterday? My favorite move is the 60* angle attack. That is just insane, I bet they're pulling some massive gs.

They were around in the 60s.

I believe it can go up to 80,000 ft. It was used often in Desert Storm, with A-10s, F-111s, F-16s. All I get to see nowadays are F-16s all day long.

I got to climb all over an SR 71 @ the museum in Hutchinson KS a few years ago. Buddy of mine knew someone there. It was back in a storage shed, partially dismantled.

When I was stationed on Okinawa ('83 & '84), we had two SR-71s. I watched them take off numerous times. We had an air show one year and I got within a couple feet of one, they really are an awesome looking machine.

When I was a kid on Long Island, Grumman was a big outfit not far from where I lived. We would get sonic booms now and then. One time, while I was playing outside I heard jets flying really low, I looked up and saw the blue and gold of the Angels flying right over me (I might have been six or seven).
