Laptop Keyboard

Alright well last night i left my computer on the floor while i went downstairs to fix a midnight snack, I comeback upstairs and my juice was spilled

the laptop only got splatters on it, but it was enough to make the keyboard sticky this morning. Is there any product that I could use like a spray like you can buy air in a can? I wish i would have had mine last night when this happend

Or am I going to be stuck taking my keys off or unscrew the backing. Thanks for the help -Josh

Well i went to my wife, the computer guru, to get an answer to your question. If that had happened to her she would use Nice and Clean anti static cleaning wipes. www.nicwpak.com

she also said that one mite attempt to pop the keys off but warns that this is a last ditch effort kind of thing. You have to be real careful popping of the keys. i know that i would never do that but my wife would.

If the sticky is just on the keys then you can just use a damp towel and wipe down the keyboard. That advice is not to imply that I have any experience in cleaning up sticky keyboards either. lol Typically I am leary of those who do.

How could you say such a thing

I took off the buttons that were sticky, it was underneath the keys...it seemed to work pretty good on most of them to jus take a damp towel and dab them, but I am gonna go pick up some anti-static wipes and try those.

I just use quikshine on a MF. Any QD should work.

Even under the keys, on like actual button/spring when i pop it off?

Thanks for everyone who posted a suggestion - I ended up using isoprypl alcohol (sp) with a q-tip and everything is working fine now

Just a tip, if anyone finds this in the future. Just because you clean the key and it is no longer sticky does not mean the damage is gone. If enough liquid is spilled and it contains sugar, take your computer to a pro to clean the motherboard, sugar over time will damage the motherboard, this could be even 4 years down the road. Thanks again!

Well- an update, the isoprpyl dried and the stickiness is back
