Fox also seems to be faster page to page. Opera's email client needs a little work also. Thunderbird has worked well for an email client. With the exception of those programs that use IE's shell I never open IE or Outlook.

Not to be argumentative here but, Firefox is about as friendly as you can get. Here is an image of my desktop with 9 tabs right below the URL just as you describe. Maybe you haven't tried the latest version of Firefox, it is up to 1.5.
Can you really call Maxthon a browser? If I am not mistaken, isn't it just a shell for IE? Does it eliminate all the vulnerabilities and problems with IE?
I do not have the latest version of FF. they must have made an upgade to the tabs. the way you showed it is the way I prefer it. might give it a try but Maxthon has been faster head to head with FF in the past. guess I will have to test them again. I have had no issues with spyware or trojans or any other issues that IE users have had. I have had so many many tabs at work with web based progams and this browser has been the most stable. if it handles what I throw at it at work it is fine for my home use. . being in the IT field I prefer to be more concerned about how my router settings and ports of the PC are configured. never said FF was bad did I ? thanks for the screenshot will give the newer version a try. I am always willing to try new and improved things for my PC. thanks also for the review of IE 7. looks like I will not be too impressed with that.

Years ago, I was a big fan of Netscape 2 up to 4.7. Everything they did after that was too slow until the Mozilla team showed up.

I'd try Opera but I'm happy with FF. I didn't like TBird when it first came out; the spam/junk filter was too aggressive and I couldn't find where to tweak it. Is it better now? I kept the Mozilla for email & news.

Tom | I love Tbird. I have been using it for almost a year now. It has some very nice extensions.
