Any Cigar smokers out there?

I recently took a nack to smoking a cigar here and there for leisure. The only one I have found to enjoy is the Ambrosia Nectar. I think its a very decent cigar. They run about 5 bucks a piece at my local cigar shop.

Anyone have any other recommendations, websites, etc. for some good prices. I only get 1 or 2 at a time because I don't have a humidor to keep them fresh.

What do you all like?

One other question though...... what is an ACID Cigar? I can't find a whole lot of info on it.

One of the "Holy Grails" of the ( legal in the US) cigar world is the Fuente Fuente Opus X.

If you become a true cigar enthusiast, you gotta try one of these some time. They are elusive and pricey but just like the finest champagne or cognacs, well worth it.

Other than that, more or less anything by Fuente is outstanding, Padron, both their regular line and the Anniversary--another , Hoyo de Monterrey ( to the Excalibur series), Partagas, Punch, the list goes on.

Cigar savoring, in moderation of course, is quite fun and a lot like using detailing products. There's loads of brands, sizes, and flavors out there and when you find one you like ( often the price isn't necessarily a 100% indicator of a good cigar), you

Thanks Bill, I have been eye-balling the "Punch", I think i will give that a try. I'm going to make a little list and head to my cigar shop tommorrow.

Any knowledge on ACID cigars? They sound illegal..LOL

Also do you have any recommendations to make a home made humidor until I buy one? I've read a plastic container with a moist cottonball will suffice.

Yikes! That sure does!

You could get a plastic container and yes, with the moist cotton ball or a moist piece of paper towel. Just not saturated.

Acid is just a brand name. Great cigar though. I always get mine at the local cigar shop. I dont know if you can find them online or not.

Check out www.cigar.com - wide selection and you can order single cigars rather than being forced to buy full boxes only. Also, stop by any major bookstore and look through the review section of Cigar Aficiaonado Magazine. You can often find some very highly rated cigars that sell for reasonable prices - that's how I found the 94 rated Onyx Reserve Mini Belicoso which retails for about $5/stick.

Otherwise I like Padron, Ashton Virgin Sun Grown (when I can find them) or Perdomo. When I unwrap a cigar my dog knows it's time for his walk!

Yep, another major site is JR Cigar. I don't think you can order singles only but they do have small quantity (4-6) samplers.

Most of mine come from there. My supply lasts for a long, long time and the reward is the cigars continue to taste better as they age.
