Call of Duty 2 video game

I got a gift card to a game store for Hannukah. I picked up Call of Duty 2 today.

Check out the trailer with your sound turned up - the game looks just like it http://www.callofduty.com/ Enter Call of Duty 2 on the right (not the Big Red One), click video and watch the trailer.

Holy Cow! This game ROCKS! I have never seen such a realistic war game. Everything about this game is insane. It is so intricate, detail oriented and sophisticated that it's frightening.

Currently I'm the Russians fighting the Germans in the Battle of Stalingrad. They're hard to spot hiding in the rubble because they're in white camo, but you can see their breath in the air because it's so cold and snowing. You can hear the German screaming to each other in German and then one pops behind the rubble and you nail him or engage in hand to hand combat. You've got a wide array of historically accurate weapons to pick up.

You can play the Russians, the British fighting Rommel or Army Rangers storming Normandy and scaling the cliffs at Pointe Du Hoc.

It's loaded with a full piece symphony score, archival footage, mission briefings, famous quotes about war, etc..

You're literally fully engaged in a non stop intense battle. It's has all the makings of a movie.

If you're a WW2 buff (as I am) and a gamer, you'll be in total heaven.

Totally check this out if you want a new game

It gets

I'm running on my new PC with 2GB RAM, 256MB NVidia GE Force card, 20" monitor and awesome Yamaha speaker set up. It looks awesome. I saw it playing on a XBox and a plasma TV at the store and it was killer.

I agree – awesome game! However the ending disappointed me a bit. I’ve have both the PC and XBOX 360 versions. It’s hard to believe how closely the 360 parallels the PC

I've played the first Call of Duty and was plain blown away when you first play the Russians and are charging up the hill (no idea what historical scene it was). There's one part where you run across while your comrade gives you cover fire and you can see the bullets hitting the ground as you head for cover.

The charge up the hill is the same battle as in part two - Stalingrad.

And yes, COD2 is a great game - COD1 suffered from being way oo easy, and the xpack was way too hard. COD2 is a nice mix, definitely a top 5 this year imo. My only criticism is that the campaign starts to lag near the end.
