Unbelievable health code violation
Don't eat at the Arby's at Ridge Road and I30 in Rockwall, Texas.
Not only did the service absolutely suck the other day but while my brother and I were waiting for our food, two customers brought their cups up for refills. Instead of using an ice scoop, the kid took those cups and put them directly into the ice bin to refill them.
My brother said something to them and all the kids working there just shrugged. Friggin' morons and no manager in sight.
I did call the Rockwall health department.

Have you ever seen "Waiting"?
Reminds me of the stuff they pull on that movie :. Funny to watch, but painful to think about.

I haven't seen "Waiting" but I do remember the waffle scene in "Road Trip".

I had a bartender at a very swanky company Christmas party last Friday scoop up a cherry for my girls drink with his hand. He must have seen her face because he said dont worry my hands are clean.....
This is why I stopped eating at hot dog trucks, one day while waiting in line I had to pee, it got me thinking this guy works 12 hours with no access to a bathroom........... At least they pretend to wash their hands at Arby's

These health code violations happen at every restaurant, including some of the finest. Read the book "Kitchen Confidential."
I steer clear of those public freebies at the supermarket counters or the mints found on the front desk of Chinese restaurants or the pretzel bowl at the bar.
In public spaces, I use my sleeve to open doors and my foot to flush toilets. When I leave the bathroom I use the paper towel to cover the door knob to open the door.
Today, I was at Whole Foods market getting some sliced turkey to make sandwiches during the week. The guy was wearing those plastic gloves (very good) and while asking me what I wanted, was rubbing his eye (very bad). I asked him to change his right hand plastic glove before grabbing the Honey Maple style turkey breast (which was most likely already contaminated with his funk).

You are correct.
My brother works at a 5-star restuarant in Providence, RI. He mentions the not washing hand thing all the time, down to even dropping food on the floor and enforcing the "5-second rule".
He is in the hotel/motel program at JWU and says this is all to common despite a ton of training in the area.

The worst one I have seen was several years ago at a salad bar. At the end of the salad bar a lady (and I use the term loosely) was trying to decide what salad dressing to use. Her method was to pull out the ladle and give it a good lick, shake her head and stick it back it the dressing. Disgusted we informed the manager who promptly put in new ladles. He just did not get it!

I am pretty sure they have ice scoops but they also seem to have lazy, poorly trained employees.

DITTO!!! Also, if the trash can is on the other side of the restroom after I have used the paper towel to open the door I will just launch it on the floor. The trash can should always be right by the door, and the door should be on the push swing instead of pull to let you out of the bathroom in public. I have never understood why you would do it any other way. Unless of course there were space constraints to consider.
Here in Texas at some of the public parks they put up little signs that say don't use your foot to work the flush levers because it causes damage and ups park fees. I say "too bad" as I kick the button.
I saw a really interesting MythBusters once about fecal coliform bacteria contamination. They set up this big experiment with toothbrushes located in various areas of their studio, and were suprised to find that the contamination rates were just about the same whether the toothbrushes were next to the toilet or next to the coffee pot.

On the other hand...
If we keep on going like this, doing hysterical about the slightest things we see, our body will not have that much strenght anymore to protect itself against bacteria and similar.
I'm not talking all the above right, but keep in mind that too hygenic is as bad as too dirty.
BTW, I took a mouthswap from myself, my girlfriend and my dog, just to keep my younger sister busy at work (she works in an independent laboratory to examine "stuff").
Guess who has the cleanest mouth and the least bacteria ?
