Please help me learn how to make an avatar. I must be clueless because all my efforts have failed and are too big to use.

I found about EZ Thumbz on Meguiar's Online. From the sound of it, it should easily help make avatars. I haven't downloaded it yet though.

That's what I use. You can make it any pixel x any pixel you want.

I have done some avatars using ImageReady and Photoshop.

I use the XAT Image Optimizer to compress/resize my pics.

It's good for compressing all of your pictures, not just the avatar pic. It makes download time a lot less frustrating for us members with 56K.

Your avatar picture has to be less than 3KB I believe, and smaller than 100x100 pixels. Once you meet those criteria, you can upload the picture as your avatar.
