Common misconception -- that went away a couple years go (probably so they could keep their funding).

Make sense. I was there about 8 years ago. I have not been back since then.
It was beautiful country. I was on a long vacation with my wife and two very young
kids then. We took the Amtrak there.
I was not exactly a fast driver. However, coming from a big metro area, I usually did
around 70-75 mph and felt impatient at speed under that. The funny thing was that
the locals were extremely laid back. They drove well below 70 mph and I would have thought
it would be the wild west out there. That was baffling to me consider that (a) there was no
speed limit, (b) the distance between pt a and pt b in Montana was incredibly long
Also, God forbids if you were stuck behind one of those Canadians (a lot of them there
on a single lane road. Without exception they were going below 62.5 mph (100 km/hour).
The first week, I was incredibly frustrated on the road because of these "slow" people.
Then I dawned on me that I really needed some attitude adjustment. I was on vacation in
this gloriously beautiful place and could not even slow down to smell the rose.
