What kinds of cars have you owned?

This is always interesting to me, seeing what kinds of cars interest people and their progression through different vehicles. I'll start off.

1994 Ford F-150
1998 Mustang GT
2000 Camaro SS
2001 GMC Sierra
2001 Grand Am GT - school car
2002 Corvette Coupe
2003 SVT Cobra
2004 Corvette Z06
2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe
2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab
2005 Pontiac GTO
and my 2004 Harley-Davidson V-Rod and a 2004 Yamaha R6

Currently I own the 2004 Z06 and 2005 GTO, and the V-Rod

What has your progression been?

I'll join the fun but just what I have owned. Years are approximate on the older vehicles, theyjust seem to blend together now:
68 Nova 250 I6
78 Nova 5.0 V8
82 Z28 5.0 V8
83 Pontiac STE 2.8 V6
84 Pontiac Sunbird 1.8 Turbo I4
86 Pontiac Fiero 2.8 V6
86 Pontiac STE 2.8 V6
88 Chevy S10 2.5 I4
90 Pontiac Transport Van 3.8 V6
95 Chevy Barretta 2.8 V6
96 Pontiac Sunfire 2.5 I4
98 Chevy Suburban 5.3 V8
01 Chevy 1500HD PU 6.0 V8
01 Chevy Suburban 5.3 V8 (still have)
04 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab 3.5 I5 (still have)
04 Chevy Colorado Crew 3.5 I5 (still have)

All were traded in. Looks like I preferred Pontiacs and 2.8 early on, but now its Chevy trucks. Must get stuck in ruts.

I used to joke every year, stick my nose in the air and say "I can smell the new cars are in at the dealers!" Never had to buy tires, new cars come with new tires!. Well, I had to buy new fronts for the Turbo 'bird. Nasty little bugger that could smoke the fronts at will.
It's been nice working for a car company (not any more. the competition is just brutal ) and getting the discount, but even then, I now wish I had the $$$ I lost turning cars so often.

The best part came with one of the promotions at work. That's when you got a company car as a "test vehicle" They would change it out every 3 months. Drove everything from a Caddy Seville STS to Chevy Malibu. Some luck guys even got Corvettes, but that was rare. All we had to do was write up test reports every week. After 5 years of this, you could walk out of a store and not be sure what you were driving.

Ah, but the good times are now gone. Company decided we had to take a stipend and buy our own car (still OK, just not as much fun). But, as I said earlier, working in the auto industry right now is just plain brutal. I used to love it. Knowing what was coming down the line in a year or more was great for a car nut. Maybe I am too old now, but for sure the atmosphere has changed. I don't know if any of the rest of you are considering a career in the auto industry. I can only recommend right now to think twice about it. The next 5-10 years are going to continue to be very difficult.

1988 Honda Civic DX, got that badgirl to 511,000 km before we sold her.
1961 VW Bettle (still have it 291k original km)
1996 VW Jetta 2.8L V6 (sold @ ~60k miles)
1999 VW Passat GLS (sold @ 100k miles)
2002 Jetta GLS 1.8T (lemon'd)
2003 GTI VR6 (lemon'd)
2003 Infiniti G35 coupe (sold when we moved to canada)
2004 Acura RSX-S (sold when we moved to canada)
2003 Infiniti G35 sedan (still own)
2005 BMW 330i (still own, wife's)

I was a huge dub fan till the two lemons. Still hoping they can bounce back, I'm over my hate.

The g35 sedan is probably my favorite car to date. 45k miles on it and nary an issue, love the power and handling. 330i is nice, but it's had some electrical problems. My wife loves it, though.

I'll make it short and sweet

1994 GMC Jimmy SLT
2002 Acura RSX

I'd probably still have the Jimmy a little longer if it weren't for my accident. My truck made it out fine with only a bent up bumper, but I never felt safe in the damn thing again. Anyway I feel like a pimp in my new car lol

Accumulator will become famous soon enough Accumulator will become famous soon enough
Last time Accumulatorette and I tried to list them all we finally gave up...

Top ten, uhm, make that *nine* (too many ties for that tenth spot so I'll keep it simple):

MOPAR: '70 Superbird 440x6/4 speed (bought in NM summer of '82, drove from NM to CA. Then drove CA to OH with one overnight stop- no map, no radar detector, no CB, no tickets and I wasn't driving 55 ).

GM: '99 C5 Mallett 396/6 speed

BMW: '90 (IIRC) M3 built by Ray Korman

Porsche: '95 928 GTS 5 speed

MB: '86 AMG SEC ("Hammer" 32v motor, pure '80s excess)

Jaguar: '85 XJS (still only has 18K miles)

Mazda: '91 RX7 R1 track package, wife's daily driver before she went Audi

Audi: '01 S8

VW: '87 Quantum synchro wagon (about my favorite dog/winter car ever)

1987 Vauxhall Astra Mk2 1.3 Merit
1990 Vauxhall Astra M2 GTE 16v
1997 Vauxhall Astra Mk3 1.8 Sport
2001 Vauxhall Astra Mk4 Coupe Turbo

As you can see - I'm stuck with Vauxhall Astras. Hopefully the next car will be a 911 though.

1987 Honda Accord LX (Totalled at 165,000 miles)
1991 Honda Accord EX (still own, 155,000 miles)
1996 Nissan Sentra (wife's old car, hated it)
2003 Honda Accord EX
2005 Acura TL

I am still young, so there is still time to own several more Honda's it looks like. Picus, I am sorry to hear about your lemon'd VW's. The new Pasaat was on my shopping list, but I just couldn't get past the quality issues they seem to have now.
