It's very comfortable to use and very thin so it's easy to have on me at all time. The only problem I have had with this phone is the GSM netork it runs on , there is no analog so in remote area's there's no signal but those places are far and few. The phones features are also very nice , I love the blue tooth wireless headset alows me to leave the phone in my console while I'm in my truck.

I use mine constantly (I average over 6000 minutes a month and I only use this phone for work -- I have a separate phone for personal use) and I find that over time, the phone slows down i.e. navigating through the menus, etc becomes slower and slower -- almost like a windows PC. If I don't power the phone off and on again after about a week, the phone eventually completely locks up (sometimes in the middle of a call) at which point, it forces me to "reboot" the phone whether I wanted to or not.
I had a V600 before the V3, and it had the same problem, so I figure it is just a bug/memory leak in the motorola software. I also carry a Blackberry 7100g at all times, so in a pinch, I can use that as a phone also if the V3 locks up in the middle of an important call.

The only complaint I have to date is that I would like to see a stiffer spring on the hinge. The one they use is adequate....but only barely so. It is just weak enough that I thought perhaps I had gotten a faulty unit. However, upon checking the inventory at the shop, I found that all of their black RAZRs were precisely the same.
I would like to see a more positive open or close action.....such as theat on the T720 I moved up from.

If you're on cingular they reccomend turning the phone off every other day so it can reboot and update it's software. I never turned my phone off before now since I started doing this I haven't had the problem. Also check to see if you have a 64bit sim card if not upgrade it , it speeds up the software itself and the updates.

Or was this only for a short period of time? Turning the phone off once a week is bad enough. Seems like a pain to have to turn it off every other day. How can you tell if you have a 64bit SIM?
I am on Cingular but all my SIMs are still AT&T branded. I have 3 SIMs in front of me right now (V3, Blackberry, EDGE card) and none of them have any markings other than a serial # on them.

My cell contract expires soon and I'm going to get a RAZR. I'm just a bit concerned with black. I love black but like a black car, does this phone show every fingerprint and scratch?

yeah I should have been more clear , I only have turn it off for a few minutes not very long and I usally just do it at night when I'm charging it. As for the SIM card , being that you still have AT&T ones that is a problem , your phones will work but it will cause problems if they are not Cingular ones. Cingular is only using 64 bit sim cards now , so all you have to do is go in to a cingualr store and tell them you would like to get new sims for your phones and they'll set you up with new ones free of charge. When you get a new one for the Blackberry make sure they check which one is right for that unit , it'll have a certain code on it or start with a certain letter. If not you'll have isssues with it , I did with my Treo 650 just because the sim was coded differerent.

As for the durability of the finish it's top notch powder coating , no scratching at all. When I bought the black one I took my key to the display unit and I was unable to scratch it, left alittle rub mark but no scratching. I am currently using the black one daily and it looks great even with the abuse I give it.

I bought a spare battery or charger (or some accessory) from some website and they sent me a small microfiber towel about the size of 1/2 a washcloth. I wrap my phone in it while the phone is in my pocket and I use it to wipe off the fingerprints and cheekprints after I talk on it. [Just as anal with the phone as I am with my car!]
Works great! The texture of the towel feels almost like a soft chamois.
