Good luck to all in the path of Katrina

Well guys, wish us luck. It looks like New Orleans is right in the middle of category 5 hurricane Katrina's path. If it ends up as bad as they say it can be, this city and most of it's neighboring parishes will be devastated. Katrina is pushing a storm surge of 20ft, waves 35 to 40 feet high, and sustained windes of 188mph gusting 200mph+. . Me and my family are going to try to head west to avoid this massive storm, but unfortunately my fiance was called in to work for the duration of the storm since she's a Registered Nurse working for one of the local hospitals. It's almost guaranteed that we will be without power for a very long time and possibly also without plumbing of any kind as well. At this point, all I'm hoping for is that everyone gets through this safely.

So to all that are in the same situation as I, you will be in my thoughts, and whatever you do, please be safe, and if the opportunity arises to help another, please do it. All we have is each other. Homes can be rebuilt, but lives cannot.

Appears NO and all the areas around the city are seriously flooded.

I'm in BR at my apt and we're fine up here. My parents are up in a Hotel up here and they have it reserved now for 2 weeks. Not sure how their house faired though. Probably the 1st floor has been flooded but we're hoping it hasn't.
