I am sure majority of the people here are hard working and earn every dime they get. The reason this post is in Good Deals Section is because I want people to know about money they can save. There are already couple of posts here that some people are not aware of the discount that is available to them.

I understand that autogeek is in business to make money and not to loose money. I just want them to be honest advise customers of the best price possible.

When I did ask for discount, the customer service rep told me that they didn't have any discounts available at this time. When I told her about the coupon codes availble on the internet, she immediatley placed me on hold and minutes later she told me the best she could do is 10% off and that's it....she was very deceptive until I confronted her about coupon codes posted on Autopia!!!!
I agree with Spilchy on this one. Obviously not everyone who calls to place an order isn't a member on Autopia. I think your complaining a little too much, I don't even think Autogeek is a sponser of Autopia anymore, yet the fact that they still honored the coupon code is pretty damn nice. As I said before they usually have better coupon codes and offers during holidays, but when you consider that most vendors offer the same prices them offer 10% off is pretty nice of them.

Exactly! Never have I seen a vendor pretty much "giveaway" so many quality products. The fact that i've gotten to try so many products for next to nothing, makes Autogeek my first choice when I'm ordering.

Being rich does have its perks. Too bad for all you working class suckers

However, I'm still confused

Autogeek does advise of the best prices available (great Special Values page) and offers the coupon code to Autopia and Detail City - 10% off the purchase. You just have to know about the coupon code. A simple search in this forum will reveal this.

I get a discount in the Autopia store with every purchase with a coupon code that isn't readily published here either (to my knowledge). I have been using it for 2 years if there is not another coupon code special going on. Does that mean DavidB (the owner of the store and this forum) is being deceptive and not advising of the best price to everyone else?

With certain memberships come certain perks. Maybe Autogeek should abolish their coupon code system and just knock everything down 10%. That'll defeat their entire marketing and sponsorship campaign. But atleast, you'll get your best price.

While you're at it, I suggest you join the newsletter of every car care store so you'll get monthly updates of new products, shipping promotions and coupon codes. This way, you'll be in the loop.

They are a welcomed, contributing part of their community and members reflect that with their loyalty in shopping there.

Here we complain, bash and speculate about vendors (with the exception of PakShak). It probably chases them away.

I understand that Autopia isn't very sponsor-friendly, but it beats the way DC is run. DC isn't a forum, it's a cult . Seriously, try saying something bad (even if its truthful) about PAC or Poorboy's there. See how long the post lasts.

I don't see alot of recent posts as bashing - people are just sharing their experiences. Its one thing if a guy who has never ordered from a vendor knocks them. Its quite another if you've ordered from them and had a bad experience (or three). I don't see any reason to protect a site with poor cusomer service on a discussion forum such as this. I understand that you've had good luck with Autogeek, and I wish I had had the same luck. However, its not like the claims of poor service are all fake. I think the rash of them is due to some sort of shakeup at Autogeek - I had good luck with them for a while, and then it turned all of a sudden. Their customer service has been all but useless to me lately. Maybe they have my name and address blacklisted , I don't know.

I couldn't have said this any better, bravo. FWIW, I've had nothing but excellent service from Autogeek, but that doesn't mean they don't screw up every now and then. After all, they are human.

Agreed. I've had no problems but I can believe it when others have because no company is perfect.

What really counts is how they handle mistakes.

Hmm, this is rather odd, a few noobs start randomly complaining about a great site with great customer service calling it a crappy site with crappy customer service.

Being a forum member and getting a discount is a PRIVILEGE. How the hell are they supposed to know that YOU'RE a member of Autopia and deserve a 10% discount?

You don't even have to ask for the 10% discount, just say you're a member of the said forum and they'll take care of you.

Some people I just don't understand...
