Wireless networking on Playstation 2

I've got a PS2, and I just built an 802.11g network into my house. I saw a USB adapter today that claimed it was easy to use and "plug and play" (http://store.yahoo.com/shentech/wu830g.html). Now, my question is, does anyone know if I can just plug this into my PS2 and have it work? Or am I just going to have to run 10/100 out to my PS2? (I'm hoping not, because its about 50 feet away from the nearest ethernet drop).

Thanks
Tim

For whatever reason the link isnt working for me, but based upon past experience, it might work. I dont have a PS2 (my friend does) and got it to work wirelessly, I'll have to ask him and see what he did. Point is I know it is possible to do, just dont know how easy it is. However, be forewarned, my buddies and I are extremely geeky, so what may be easy for us may be excruciatingly painful for somebody who's not a geek.

Edit: I got the link to work now, and I dont know if that would work. I'd be inclined to say probably not on a PS2 because those adaptors usually need drivers to work, and I am not aware of any easy way to install drivers on a PS2, would most likely need a firmware upgrade = buku bucks and many a headaches. I know there is a wireless PS2 kit out there somewhere, just a matter of finding it. Sorry I couldnt be more help.

Will the PS2 recognize a LAN connection over USB? If not, that device probably isn't for you.

I think what you need would be something along the lines of this: http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...366&pfp=BROWSE
or this: http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...753&pfp=BROWSE

Both devices are regularly quite a bit pricier than what you linked, but both have decent rebates going on at the moment ($39 and $19 after rebate).

HTH,
Tort

Thanks tort, I guess I might have to go the pricier route. Still beats 50 feet of ethernet + 4 hours with a drill and snake .
