Today could have been nasty

My MOT certificate (yearly car check) ran out yesterday. My family were going away this weekend and so I got the car booked in early so that when I got back home we could set off for the weekend.

The car failed its test. When the brake check was being conducted one of the brake pipes burst and sprayed fluid onto the floor.

I was initially angry about loosing the weekend away before I realised that the brake could have failed whilst travelling on the motorway at 70 mph. Obviously the consequences could be very serious so in a way I am glad it failed in the garage.

Nice catch. That could have been really nasty. I am getting ready to go on a pretty long trip and on Tuesday I am having my car throughly checked by my mechanic. I really don't want any surprises when I am 1200 miles from home.

God forbid! You'll always have another chance to get away for the weekend. Perfect sentiment to rationalize the experience.

Now you won't have an excuse to get under the car to give it a good detail to clean up the brake fluid!
