Canon Digital Rebel...

I got a Kodak EasyShare 7630. Ok camera, but I
am thinking of stepping up to something more
flexible. Been looking at the digital rebel, and
I'm thinking that's my next :camera

Actually, it does not have to be a rebel, but i am looking
more towards an SLR digital camera or some other non-
SLR options

Anyone have this camera, or have any suggestions on
a good digital camera? Trying to keep the cost under
a grand, so it does not have to be the best of the best,
but I want some bang for my buck.

Any feedback is appreciated.

I have the Rebel XT and have been very happy with it. It is similar but 8MP and a little smaller.

It's a camera I have been looking at and the reviews are quite positive...here's a link to one of the more thorough:

www.dpreview.com

...then click on reviews and you will see the Canon 350D/Rebel XT listed.

First thing you shold do is assess your needs. What are you trying to accomplish with your photography? Are you taking high-speed sports shots, night shots, plan on buying extra lens'? I'd look into the Pro1. It can be found for roughly ~600.
