Also pins-and-needles. also phantom temperature changes - cold to hot, then normal for a while. Xrays show disk shrinkage/collapse/erosion at C6-7 and symptoms confirm this. Specialist says first physio, then maybe injection of cortizone at site, then maybe to the KNIFE - fusion or laminectomy unknown at this time. First physio today - every exercise aggrivated the base level of P&N and numbness. MRI tomorrow to get accurate determination of disk damage. 3 principal aggravations are driving the car, mousing on computer and lying flat on my back.
Wish me luck - I will need all of it I can get ahold of.....

I had that, I'm 50. It was diagnosed as cervical stenosis. I was in a pretty bad way about a year ago, living on ipuprofen and percocets.
I did 12 weeks of physical therapy in Nov/Dec/Jan as a first option, and it worked pretty well. I know it's still there, but it's been held at bay for the last 4 months.
Hang in there. There really is such a thing as "no pain" again.

Don't get old - the ailments suck!
