Country music, are you kidding me?
Any other country music fans?
I was the type that when asked "What type of music do you like?" I would reply, "Pretty much everything but country."
I cannot say this anymore. I am really starting to like it. Perhaps is because seeing all these pop tarts and lame a$$ hip hop "stars" produce the same crap over and over again. Country just seems to be one of the few music sceens out there right that is getting it right. The songs are good, not that twang my grandpa listened to. They deal with modern issues without grabbing their privates and cussin out everyone and their mother, sometimes including their mother lol.
I just like it more and more each day.
What are your thoughts?

Seems kids today don't buy an album unless it has a parental advisory label on it, same goes for video games. Geez where are the parents?
I am stuck in the '80s myself though, I still love old classic rock. I have also been listening to country for years. My CD changer currently has Aerosmith, Van Halen, Bob Seger, Trapt, George Strait and Keith Urban in it.

You sound like my brother. He has been a huge classic rock fan for years but a while back he started listening to country as well and now he is a huge fan. One day I was going somewhere with him and he had on KSCS (a country station) and he said "I can't believe I actually like this "
He even has a pair of ropers now!
I listen mostly to classic rock still but I like country too, especially Robert Earl Keen. I also like classical music, some alt-rock and 70's funk.

Im not saying that I would not listen to modern and classic stuff. Just is refreshing.
In the CD changer is John Mayer, Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, the new NIN (IT ROCKS) DMX, Old Skool Ice Cube, and Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney and Toby Keith.
How is that for a mix of music? On the drive home I find myself hitting the XM Radio country or the modern rock channel Lucy.

XM12, Cross Country.
It's where Classic Rock has evolved into what it always was, American music.

I am enjoying country more and more. My girlfriend's cousins got her into it, who now has me into it.
Would you ever believe hearing Tim McGraw coming from my car ?

We used to listen to country music back whenwe lived in Texas, about ten years ago. It just seemed like the thing to do in Texas...
But now, I'm a huge fan. The music is boring.
It's funny... I make fun of my Dad for having just turned 41, but I listen to the music that was popular when he was a kid. AD/DC, Zepplin, Skynard, Van Halen, Hendrix, etc...

Yeah my sister turned me onto it like a year ago. I was pretty sure that I wasn't going to like it at all. You'd be surprised how many country CD's I have now lol...

It is sad that some of the most popular "artists" are the ones that cannot leave drugs, sex, violence, and continous profanity out of their lyrics. They are not artists.
I do not listen to much music and I grew tired of country (all anyone in my family listened to for years) but at least there is more true talent and class in that genre.

I used to say "everything but country" too. Coming back from Nashville, I have to drive through southwest Virginia. After six hours of driving, I give up on my cds and always listen to the radio. SW Virginia has some "rock" stations (your favorite 5 hits all day, every day) with poor reception and REALLY strong country stations. I got tired of channel surfing and just left it on country. After two hours, I realized that I really liked it. It has actual instruments, a good story, and is humorous most times.
Now, I can say "anything," but I still mostly listen to newgrass (slamgrass, jamgrass, etc..).

Actually I have Tim Mcgraw in the cd changer right now too. Of course it's the song he did with Nelly though...
