Pictures w/ new camera - Cherry Blossom Land & Deer (56k warning)

After lots of researching and opinions(thanks to all the members who helped me ), I finally decided on a camera that fit most of my needs. I eventually went with the Fuji FinePix S5100. I bought it two weeks ago and really haven't had a chance to test it aside from around the house and in the yard. Anyway this past weekend I stayed over my cousin's 2nd house up in PA. It's about 120 acres of land and your pretty much secluded from everything, which is a good thing. Anyway I really wanted to get some shots of wildlife, mainly deer, but didn't have the best of luck seeing them. Here are two pictures of some, the first I just snapped from inside the truck on the way up, across a field, not the best shot i'll admit. They got spooked off by us. The second is very hard to see you can see how they blend in so well. All I saw was white tails moving when they took off. Both shots were shot from very far away and I was on a idling quad for the second. The last shot I was trying to get creative and decided to do a "blair witch style" picture of a broken down tree stand. Not the most succesful weekend, but i'm nowhere near giving up just yet on my new photography hobby.

On to today, I went to Branch Brook Park which is 5 mins away from my house. This park is known for its cherry blossoms, I believe its one the largest parks of cherry blossoms in the country or maybe even world, don't quote me. For the week that all the cherry blossoms are out, it's PACKED with photographers and people just enjoying the scenary/weather. So here are a couple shots, not the best because I was kinda in a hurry and I missed the peak of the color, because I wasn't around this weekend. I just left it in all AUTO for all the shots.

Hope everyone else is enjoying the nice weather
Enjoy!

You have a couple of good shots there. Nice use of the rule of thirds (whether intentional or not), capturing paths, etc. Little tweaking of my two favorite:

Thanks TW85, what exactly did you do to the 1st picture? I just posted these pictures up directly from the camera, I still have to get my hands on a good edition of Adobe Photoshop for photo editing. Have you taken a class in photography? You seem to know your stuff. Also do you have any recomendations for cleaning my lens? I was thinking some sort of lens solution and one of my MFs?

First photo: Increased the clarity and sharpness, removed digital camera noise, and added the frame.

Second photo: Added sepia toning in addition to everything I did to the first photo.

I highly recommend Paint Shop Pro 9. Very advanced tools and features and is just a little more money than the basic PhotoShop Elements 3.0.

As for lens cleaning, there are kits available that contain cotton swabs, a cleaning cloth, cleaning sheets, a brush and hand air pump, and a solution of water and rubbing alcohol. I have had better luck using just the solution and a high quality, suede style microfiber towel.

BTW, I'm still learning photography and am a novice by all means.
