This might be a surprise, but I agree! However, if there was ever a slim chance for me to get better I would want that fighting chance, and I think Terry deserves this since we don't know 100% what she wants. Yes, I know that some doctors say she will never get better, but we don't know this 100% either. Doctors are not always right.Originally posted by Tasty

Maybe I can save the court system alot of money and time.
The big question is: Would Terry want to live like this- assuming there's no chance of recovery.
My question is: Who would?-G.A. Jr.

"I have said it before, this woman LACKS a cerebral cortex. In its place currently, is an empty space filled with spinal fluid."
Those brain scans are 10 years old. They were not the definitive ones either. Medically speaking you need a full MRI or a PET scan to determine the quality of life Terri is living.

A bit off topic, but every 17 minutes someone dies because of drunk driving and it seems that majority of us DGAF.
People still drink and drive and it is so common that besides MADD it is a dead isssue for most. What about them? Or the soldiers in Iraq who are dying? Etc....
Each year 33 million people check out in the USA
Why is Terry such a big deal?
PS: III - the only reason she is *alive* is because we are playing ""god"". Nature or in your case god would have taken her home a long time ago.
You say you are pro life? You are slowly killing yourself by your food choices. People drink, SMOKE etc... do you try to fight those people so they can live longer or do you wait until they get cancers, liver/kidney damages and than you step in before someone pulls the plug?

Point well taken. It's an issue only because of politics. Jeb Bush should NEVER have stepped in to this PERSONAL matter in the first place. You make some good points though. However, is it wrong to save a life with technology if it is possible? It's too hard to separate technology from the issue of prolonging life because the technology is so readily available. Should people die simply because that is what would happen in nature without assistance?Originally posted by tdekany

Let me make it clear - I am all for technology, including cloning.

I agree. She is only alive by technology. Without it she would not have hung in there this long. It has been 15 years, If she was to get better it would have happened by now.Originally posted by tdekany

I am not disputing the possibilty of some *crooked* or sneaky things between her husband, the nurses, etc. as to why she should be allowed to live.
My bottom line IMO is her condition, I firmly believe if she was going to get better she would have within the last 15 years.

Point well taken. However I'm only one person. I simply cannot fight everything that's out there. Also, you don't know what I eat.Originally posted by tdekany

Here are some websites I would encourage people to visit and learn from about Terry Schiavo. Some of this you simply won't see the main street media report.

VCY America is a Christian radio station. What you would "learn" about Terry would be grossly skewed to fit a religious agenda. The likes of the reports found here coincide with those people who stand outside the hospital, spewing their own versions of hate towards those who disagree. Just read some of those signs. terrisfight.org is obviously not objective.
What I loved about the theempirejournal.com site was a link to this looney tune's site http://www.rollye.net/index.html
For a moment, I thought she was a washed up porn star.
This site (Empire Journal) seems to be the most interesting to me. I found some informative articles to read.
What the "main street" media does including the cable networks, is to report in the most unbiased way (or at least tries to), the reality of what is occuring in this particular situation. You see both sides reported and debated on from all the view points.
We all have our "sources", especially on the Internet, that we find agreement with. With the onset of the Internet, anyone who can post a web page can post a view point, regardless of how outrageous it may be.

I found out yesterday that in an old interview with Larry King, Michael Schiavo said he was not sure what Terri would want as far as dying.
This raises real questions in my mind...how can he now claim that she wanted to die than live like this?
If we are not sure what Terri wanted why not let her parent's take over and care for her?
The fact that Michael has moved on to another woman, even without a divorce certainly raises questions about his motives.

Someone help me out here. It's reported that Terry is on a morfeen/morfin (however you spell it) drip. If it's reported by Michael's doctor's & his lawyer that Terry can't feel pain, why the morfeen?Last edited by III; 03-29-05 at 08:16.
