A Travel Question for UK Autopians

My father is retired and is living in Devon. It’s been a few years since my wife and I have visited
We are starting to plan for a trip for this spring or summer.

What would be good time to go over to the UK “flowerwise” (The wife is a gardener and would like to see some English gardens at or close to their peak)? The only other time we’ve been over was in an October so we don’t have a good basis for comparison. The nearby towns are Bideford (sp) and Barnstaple. Thanks.

I would say either spring or summer.

That part of England tends to have milder weather so I would suspect the gardening season is much longer.

I would always recommend visiting some of the Country Houses where many of these estates have first class garden.

There is also some domed gardens which are by all accounts excellent but I cannot remember its name. When I remember I will repost

Right now we are thinking of late in April or late in June. May is just too busy a month in the yard and garden around here.
