I just finished a book about the epidemic of 1918; it was pretty scary stuff. If that were to happen now, it would still take us down pretty bad. Most people who died did so because there simply weren't enough doctors and hospital beds.

We all went out to eat at a Japanese Hibachi place for his daughter's 18th birthday and I sat next to him. Near the end of the meal, I mentioned to him he was sounding a bit hoarse and asked if the smoke was getting to him. He said it wasn't the smoke, he was getting over the flu.
Now I have a sore throat, mild headache and some light pain in my lower back...and I am waxing a 44' motorcoach tomorrow!

Good luck, Hope you stay clear of it.

Oddly enough, I felt MUCH better after that, and I went right to sleep. I slept for most of the following two days, without eating much. I did get up to check the Autopia forums a few times though. And I drank a good couple dozen or more cups of water those days.

I think it was food posioning though because after I finished throwing up (3-4 times in my car and 4-5 more times while showering), I felt much better but extremely tired. I slept from about 7PM to nearly noon the next day.

Felt a little tired for a few hours, like the onset of a light cold, then all hell broke loose! Five hours later, all spent in the bathroom, I finally "held on " to some water and collapsed in bed for a very rough nights sleep. The following two days I slept like a baby and took nothing but water (gallons of it). Even on the third day drinking the water still left a "tickle" in the back of my throat and I didn't eat any solids until the 5th day!
Bad news.. I hope no one else gets it, but it seems to be the 'bug of the moment' in my home town.
