Now, how is it that you get something like a payphone to right? I knew a long time ago, but have forgotten how to now.

Just an update: I have been messing with a friend for the last 24 hours with this thing and it is hilarious. I will usually do it every couple of hours when I have access to a computer. He lives with a guy I work with and he came into work today telling me my buddy is going nuts. Oh the fun you have created for me.

The verizon trick for that is dial 555 and then the last 4 digits of the phone you are on, hang up and it gives a a call back to check the line.

Im really shocked that the 958 thing doesnt work for you guys, I even had a coworker in Little Rock try it today while I was on the phone wth him it worked?

Please dont call 911.....

I keep either getting:

"It didn't work... too bad"

or

"The phone number is in use or something else is wrong..."

yeah, it gave me that last night

I haven't tried it again. thought maybe it got overloaded or it counts how many times an ip hits it or something and then blocks it.

Ok I finally got it to work... sort of.... The caller ID just says MY name and number, instead of the name I put into it. (on a land line)

Thats what it does, I have no clue why it asks for your name when you go to that website

Maybe that works for some people but for me the number and name your pranking shows up on the victims Caller ID
