Come remodel with me...

Our house was built in 1973 and has many of the original features - stylish linoleum, wall paper, wainscoting, fixtures, popcorn ceilings, outdated appliances, carpet, etc.

Here are some pics of the move-in condition:

Rockin' basement (high-tech entertainment center)

Re: Come remodel with me...

First project - scraping popcorn ceiling texture, followed by hand-texture and fresh paint.

Carnage

Nice and smooth

Textured, painted, and new ceiling fans (remote controlled)

Stainless Steel LG range, dishwasher, and built-in microwave

Original windows - most wouldn't open and were very water stained

Fully insulated, Double paned, double hung windows

Fully insulated, Triple paned sliding door

Re: Come remodel with me...

Next step - painted bathroom cabinets, remove wainscoting and trim, remove entry tile

Black painted cabinets and metallic silver hardware

Removal

No more tile, but still needs floor sanding

I do remodels for a living and know how hard it can be. The finished product will be worth it though! Looks good so far and keep up the good work.

Re: Come remodel with me...

Whew! I'm finally done texturing the main living areas. It took way longer than I anticipated, but I was more concerned with doing the best job possible. It took around 14 hours total just for the texture. We have Friday off, so we'll be laying the paint.

It's hard to capture the detail in a picture, but this shows the change:

Last wall, still drying

And I never really showed the appliances installed (cabinets will be refinished) (excuse the mess)

More updates after paint...

Re: Come remodel with me...

That is a lot of work Zane, but will be well worth it in the end.

Oh...and there's so much more to come...

I still have to put baseboards and crown moulding up, but that's going to wait for the tile and wood to be finished.

Before texture and paint

After texture and paint

Re: Come remodel with me...

How has your detailing fared during the remodel?

The remodel looks great! I hope that I can enough time to do that. It's awesome.
