Sad but true. MJ is part of the reason pop music today is all about the performance and music itself is secondary. That's why we get manufactured crap like Britney Spears and American Idol.

While his talent and impact on pop music culture is undeniable he did lead a very questionable lifestyle, I have a very hard time separating the two.

Some will say that he was never convicted of the child molestation charges but come on, he paid something to the tune of $20 MILLION to make this go away. OJ Simpson was found innocent and there was a body and SOOO much evidence involved with that case that pointed directly to OJ…But MJ choose to pay these people off. If I was EVER charged with something as VILE as this there is no way I would ever just pay someone off and I don’t know of anyone that would.

In my heart of hearts, Mr Jackson was guilty of the charges and there is a very special place in the afterlife for people that do this type of crime.

My heart goes out to his family and loved ones who are in pain during this time and while I will and never would dance on anyone’s grave, I am conflicted (to say the least) about his passing.

Re: Ed, Farrah, Michael.....Rest In Peace

Guilty...not guilty only those involved will really know. I look at these deaths more in the sense of cultural icons, each in their own right, leaving us.

Let's face it, MJ had a huge impact on the dance, videos and fashion. I believe he was our own Frankenstein who we fashioned and then also turned on.

Farrah ushered in a whole hair style....I mean what girl back in the 70's, 80's didn't want that famous Farrah hairdo? She was simply beautiful and put a whole new meaning to the word "pin-up" girl with her famous poster.

Ed...he was the perfect side kick for Carson....notice no other late night hosts have an "Ed" by their side? I really miss Carson and Ed. There will never be another late night show with that chemistry....IMHO.

Anthony

So MJ is the reason for Britney? It's offensive just to mention them in the same breath. She simply can't and never could sing.

What I am saying is he helped usher in the performance before the music era. BTW, I NEVER like MJ's music, dislike it just as much as Britney, Backdoor Boys, etc.

Farrah on the other hand...

Killed a lot of kittens over that poster of hers.

That's more of an internet web board saying.

Heard that, at least he lived a long full life.

Patrick Swayze is probably next but I hope not.
