One very butchered Ferrari California...

The service manager of the dealership called me today and asked me if I could come in and inspect a couple of Ferraris that arrived yesterday. Even he said that his eyes popped out of his head when he saw this one... brace yourselves.

SWEET JEEBUS!!!

The roof... if you look closely enough, you can see my brain...

This one's in the wort shape I've seen yet. They've obviously used a heavier compound that what they've used in the past, as the buffer trails on the other ones were much more uniform and not nearly as deep as these. You can also see in this picture the RIDS caused by the polish either drying up or by it conglomerating up to make larger particles of polish, thus giving it the uneven cut. They're the swirls that catch more light than the rest of them.

Notice the service manager next to me, laughing in disbelief

There were just too many deeper scratches to bother even catching on camera, but here's a few on the bonnet.

The front bumper is very in very bad shape. Either someone hit something with it or something else scraped it, but this is what needs to be taken care of first. If I can manage to take this out (FME I don't think I'll be able to polish this out), then the rest of the car can be done. If not, they're sending it back to Maranello. If I was in their shoes, my vote would be for the latter, but I'll take the work!

Wish me luck!

Word... there's another red one that came in yesterday, though not as bad as this one, that'll be next on the operating table... then there's a 430 Spider that needs to be handled... good for me!

! That is horrible. There's just no excuse. Document this and send it out to Ferrari after your correction. #19 is in big trouble.

Holy $%^&

The dealership needs to bill Ferrari with the photos, the worse that will happen is they don't pay

Cheers,
GREG

Re: One very butchered Ferrari California...

I can understand sub-par polishing and swirls. But deep marring and scratches? Seriously? On a Ferrari? What happened?

Re: One very butchered Ferrari California...

That has no place on a Cobalt much less a car of this ilk. Totally amazing that it was shipped in that condition.
