Yeah, I told them no Penicillin or Vicodin. I've never taken Penicillin before my a few people in my family are allergic so he just gave me something else. And I tried to take Vicodin before but it just tore up my stomach and gave me headaches so he perscribed Tylenol 3. He was really insistent that I take Advil or Motrin though to keep down the swelling. I haven't really taken the Tylenol 3 at all.

Re: Wisdom teeth

I'm not looking forward to having my 6 wisdom teeth removed. Ha ha - beat you Greg!

My doc says it's not that rare, but 8 is. My brother had 6 as well. He already had his out. I'll probably get them out later this year. Ugh!

On the xray, the extra ones are about a third of the size of an average molar. Maybe it's a parasitic twin and I only ended up with some extra teeth.

Re: Wisdom teeth

I had mine taken out around 10 years ago and it was a pretty bad experience. I had NOS instead of sedation and all 4 were impacted. The dentist literally broke the teeth apart to remove them from the gumline (that's a sound that you never forget). On top of that, at one point I heard the dentist say "whoops" and I looked up to see a small cloud of smoke coming from my mouth. The teeth were also done 2 at a time so that meant 2 separate trips for me.

Hope everything heals nicely for you Bob!

Re: Wisdom teeth

Well I just went in for a cleaning and checkup. The Dentist said he needed to replace a couple of my old fillings (metal type) and he would use the new stuff but they won't even look at the cavity by the gum line on one of my upper wisdom teeth. Get it pulled and while your at it have all of them pulled .

Had the consultation with the Oral Surgeon and while the two upper one's are fully out the two lower ones are partially erupted so those will be a bit more work.

I haven't set a date for the surgery yet, you guys are braver than me, I don't want nobody pulling out any of my chompers.

If the procedure alone is scary enough the price tag surely is. Close to $2,000 for all four and I pay 20% of that if the Surgeon accepts the Insurance I got other wise I pay the whole thing and file a claim.

Haha, don't you just love the amnesia you get after waking up? I didn't recognize anyone when I woke up until 2 hours later when I suddenly realized I was on my bed

Fun times...

You're lucky you did not blow the welds on the manifold with all that NOS!

Thanks man! Had I had to be remotely awake for any of it I'd of passed out on my own anyway. LOL

Last night some stitches fell out already and it feels better. The stitches where bothering me because it kept feeling like I had something stuck up there.

It took me like 2 years to set up my consultation and another 2 years to actually have them done. LOL I was NOT looking forward to it at all. I only finally went because one was partially out and was bothering me.

I had to pay $600 the day of. The nurse tried to talk me out of having them all done until next year when insurance would cover more. I told her that I'm lucky I even made it this far so just do them all. LOL

I don't remember ANYTHING. LOL I remember hearing my parents over my house talking but don't remember ever seeing them. Hell, 10:00 that night I even had trouble getting up the stairs to go to bed. haha

Re: Wisdom teeth

Glad it went well! When I had mine out, the surgeon suggested soaking kitchen sponges in water, put them individually in zip-lock bags, freezing them, then use a kitchen towel to strap the sponges on each side of your face. Doing this 24/7 for three days prevented any swelling. It also kept me from leaning on the pain meds.
