Craigslist

Craigslist is like the most entertaining thing to me. Some times I honestly feel really bad for these people because I picture someone like Cletus from "The Simpsons". Here's an ad I just found I thought I'd share:

Profesional detaing and polishing (metrodetroit and monroe area)

Hi my name is xxxxx and i run a profesional detailing and polishing service located in sw michigan (Detroit and Monroe are in SE Michigan) , i have 2 years plus of training and experiance working at a reputable body shop that specializes in fleet and private automotive detailing and polishing .

- i offer my services to anyone
- from just cleaning the interior , a wash and wax , or to a full blown wash /detail /polish /wax , i can accomadate and in with prior arragments i can come to you in most cases.

-polishing ( polishing goes case by case , usually i can give a quick estimate over the phone if an accurate assesment is given by customer .
-i offer 3 types of polishing / clearcoat restoration/
level1- purple polish - 1 to 2 hrs - removes smaller and micro scratches and swirl marks usually seen on most newer cars
level2 - rubbing compound and polish - removes fine to moderatly deep scratches and can take abiout to 3.5 hrs
level3(the works)-claybar to remove any tar/sap, involves wool pading the car , takes all but the deepest of scratches out , comound and polish ,wax .Level 3 usually takes 1 day in and of itself and is highly labor intesive.

Re: Craigslist

99% of the craigslist detailing ads I see are advertising to be the cheapest. At least he didn't do that. But most just simply aren't very well written...

Re: Craigslist

Wow, looks like Hooked on Phonics failed again... His eherm, "services" are rather interesting. How can someone put up an ad for their business with such horrible English?? I mean, I laugh my a$$ off here when the Hungarians try to translate things into English and totally screw it up, but that's different because they're foreigners (well, some of these companies are extremely big so shame on them, but...). Who would actually call that guy??

Re: Craigslist

SO you made me look at my local craigslist, turns out there's like 4-5 ones that are pretty pathetic sounding, and one that sounds decent.

Funniest part is there weren't ANY car audio install ones that sounded decent, lol.

There's a local guy on a local forum that is a porter at one of those luxury car places on Woodward. He claims to be a "salesman" but if you knew this kid you'd know he's lucky that they even allow him to touch these cars. Anyway, he's always posting on the forum all of this knowledge and "articles" he writes. I always find the articles online written by someone else and he just copy and pasted. Then I post the link to the original. LOL

LOL

CL is always hit or miss. All kinds of people selling and buying. I posted $200+ motorcycle boots. I was asking $175. I got an offer for $50 shipped. I've sold a few motorcycles on there but like 1 in 50 replies are serious buyers. The rest want you to give it to them 50% off the asking price.
