Throwing Shoes for Fun and Notoriety
YouTube - MSNBC - Journalist Throws Shoes at President Bush
How do you get to be that good at throwing shoes? Those were fastballs right on target! Do they have an arcade game for throwing shoes in Iraq? Do you select a certain pair for certain occasions? I wonder if the new security protocol for Presidential press conferences in Iraq is going to be to make everyone check their shoes at the door.

Re: Throwing Shoes for Fun and Notoriety
He purportedly said "That was a size 10 shoe he threw at me, you may want to know."

Shoe thrower was probably pretty lucky everything was being filmed. I have a feeling that if it weren't, the secret service would have torqued every joint in the guy's body. Amazing accuracy though.

I guess I could see why you think its funny. I might disagree with a lot of what Bush has done but to me (personally, I don't except liberal minded 'free (lol)' thinkers to feel the same) that is no different then burning the flag.

I wish they didn't fill it and they should shoot the guy as far as I'm concerned. Imagine if that reporter through a shoe at Saddam....

To me, it seemed like security was a bit lacks. He could have gotten hit in the face twice. Only seconds later, after it was all said and done with, did a few people tackle him.

Re: Throwing Shoes for Fun and Notoriety
I watched it last night. Loved the SS guy that stood up from the left, he looked totally confused, "Bullets yes, hand grenades yes, they never told us about shoes in training dammit!!"
Bush has some good reflexes. Cheney would have caught both in the mouth.

Re: Throwing Shoes for Fun and Notoriety
I think it's even more impressive how calmly and quickly bush responded. He MUST be part of a secret world leader / ninja organization, because he just dodged it with a "is that the best you've got?" look on his face. Haha. Over the last 6 months my opinion of Bush has gone way up from random cool stuff he's done. (not that I like Bush.. or Obama, for that matter)

Re: Throwing Shoes for Fun and Notoriety
Now the iraqi's want that reporter to be freed from detention, since they consider him a hero. Now imagine, if those shoes landed on target, that guy would've been their god by now

Re: Throwing Shoes for Fun and Notoriety
I said this on a local car forum im on,
you dont throw shoes(disrespect) the man that could have your country turned into a parking lot for the middle east.
As far as im concerned the iraqi people should be ashamed for his actions. Just as I would be ashamed of any american who would openly disrespect another world leader on our soil.
