problems with canon, help plz

my canaon powershot sd850is digital elph is messed up. every time i plug it into the computer via USB the computer makes the "do do do" sound and nothing happens. i just reinstalled my drivers from the cd that came with the camera and still no bueno. a while back (this has been going on for a while) it said the device was malfunctioning. now it just says nothing. i got the camera in January from best buy with no warranty so, i doubt they'll take it back on a return. anyone have any suggestions?

First thing I would check is how other USB devices function in that USB port before you blame the camera.

Do you have a flash drive or any other USB device you can use to test the USB port with?

Do you have another computer you can try the camera with? If the camera works with another computer but, not yours than you can determine whether it is the computer or the camera...

I ust had an issue with my Canon EOS, USB won't read, Go to best buy to buy a flash card reader to download pics. or send it back to canon or best buy, they have a 1 year retun policy or exchange it. PM

thanks for the advice, guys. i've tried my USB headphones in the same port and they work great. also tried the camera on my grandmother's computer and got the same noise.

pattieman. how can i return it under their 1 year thing without getting a hassle? thanks.
