Angry Worst Idea EVER!

So over the past few days I've been working on cleaning the house and found alot of box's from stuff I ordered leading me to this rant.

PACKING PEANUTS! HAVE TO BE THE WORST IDEA EVER and heres why

Granted they are good for what they do but there are so many better things out there. Fisrt of they Stick to anything thats in the box making their way world never to be captured agai, not is ever just one is always one then two and so forth. Once you manged to get your stuff out of the box, without kicking the damn box from fustrasion (only thing that stops me is the fact I would never be able to get all the peanuts back in the box.) So now you have a box that you could use but its full of worthless peanuts, so I decied to empty the box's into a trash can so I could put them in a bag and store them. I went inside my house for about 5min to cool off and lets the dogs in, I went on the net for a min to see what the weather was up to as I heard some thunder in the distance, no rain just thunder head passing by, back out side. I went back into the car port, some thing didnt feel right, then the wind blew just a little, and then it hit me as I heard the sound of about a billion packing peanuts blowing in the wind, (?^#! the trash can blew over putting me in my own version of hell. I ended up getting about 95% of them but Im still finding them EVERY WHERE! So what can you do with them, cant throw them away as they dont decompose also Im convinced they would make their way back to me with greater numbers! SO what to do with these little bass-terds? The only thing I can figure to do with them is

1: Mail a huge box full of them to some random poor unsuspeting soul
2: Use them as inslation for the house
3: Use then during holidays, birthdays just to torture them, people need to feel my pain

SO in the end I really just want to the makers of these hell spawn.

Re: Worst Idea EVER!

Great post!
I was just talking about this yesterday with my fiancee as we received a wedding gift in the mail from Macy's. For a box of silverware, it required about 2 cubic feet worth of these awful things!

I like the idea of mailing it to some random person.

Re: Worst Idea EVER!

I found someone local with a small business that can use them. They seem appreciative.

Re: Worst Idea EVER!

The peanuts that Auto Detailing Solutions use dissolve under water. Have you tried that? I know a lot of peanuts these days can be dissolved.

Re: Worst Idea EVER!

I love it, you are so right. Oh, and if they just happen to get a little wet, forget it, they will stick like freaking super glue. I hate those things. My trashcan still has a bunch of them stock to the bottom, even after the garbage truck has emptied my trashcan, those darn things still remain.

Re: Worst Idea EVER!

I take mine to a local small pack & ship place
and in return they give me a few scratch off lottery tickets
so it works for both of us

Re: Worst Idea EVER!

I hate those things also!

One thing that I like about Surf City Garage (besides free shipping!) is that they use those little folded cardboard packing thingies that look to be pretty enviro-friendly, recyclable AND they don't stick to everything.

Re: Worst Idea EVER!

I hate it, especially the ones that have a static charge to them because they cling all over to you.

But they work well to cushion your product from damage and it makes packaging/shipping easier on you. I usually save most of my peanuts and reuse. Like others have mentioned, a shipping place might take them off of you if you don't want them. They're not exactly cheap. I wouldn't go out and buy a bag just for the sole purpose of shipping a package.

Re: Worst Idea EVER!

I had a few huge boxes full of them, enough to fill a 8' bed truck three times, took them to a shipping company and gave them away. Better than having them take up space in the shop.

Re: Worst Idea EVER!

I once threw a HUGE, and I mean Huge box of it away. Problem is that the box was soo big it did not fit in my trash bin outside, so I left it on top of the trash bin ().

Well the next morning on m way to work I see that the box had fallen over and the wind had spread them throughout my entire lawn. Now that was bad!. lol.. I just left it there.
