I don't understand how Todd and/or Super would have any financial interest in car polishes?

Re: How long have you been on Autopia?

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but can anyone really confirm that SuperBee isn't intensionally posting here? He has posted since his time out and I can't remember him posting anywhere else recently. He also took the entire last winter off and didn't post then either. Maybe he's just busy at work like he mentioned before?

He's posted quite a bit over on DB since his time out. Though the last week he's been absent, presumably for work.

2001, on and off. Mostly browse/read, don't post too often.

I agree. As long as it doesn't turn into a flame-fest, DavidB is pretty tolerant with regards to heated discussions.

I think it's a model for how forums should be run.

Re: How long have you been on Autopia?

I remember the old days before this forum, what was being used as forum server detailking? After 6 weeks or so the topic would change over and the thread/responses would have to be repeated.

I missed a few, uhm 5+ years in between the beginning (~1999 when I first found Autopia to 2002ish was my first run, then intermittent postings, until pretty much now) and now. Between college and military service, there wasn't much time for internet. I even have a hard time keeping my car clean due to lack of garage and being busy on weekends. I will have to brush off my Makita 9227C, PC 7424, and the rest of my kit because I am getting back into it now that I have some free time.

Enough about me though, I don't know the specific details of what went down on D-day and I will probably find out at a later time, but the forum has changed. In the overall picture for the better. The members have increased exponentially and along with that come new faces and tension. On the flip side product development has spawned numerous new and updated products which in the end have led to just a better detail all other things being equal (the most important one being technique/skill.)

The comment about Wal-mart above is true in my opinion. Gone are the days of long posts being detailed in science and technique. Now its more or less a get it in and get it out type of deal.
