here was my first attempt at macro today...all i can say is i have a MUCH bigger appreciation for all of the macro shots i see on the canon forums now.

Great shots! The XSI is a an amazing deal! I was waiting for it to come out but ended up getting a 40D instead. Happy with my choice, but my wife doesn't like the size of the 40D

my XSi w/ canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens. the lens just arrived thursday...so i'm just beginning to learn with it.

not really...i think it's still too new. prices online only vary around $20-$30 or so for the body + kit lens. check out amazon for a good summary...that's where i got mine from (sold by amazon as well, not a redirect to another vendor). i saved tax and shipping that way too.

I believe costco sells the XSi with a lens kit for a good deal.
