Same deal with NXT threads. They used to go on for pages. Those two products seem to devlop more debate than anything else and there seems to be very little middle ground.

The funny thing is, the extreme layering crowd does more to turn people off to even trying Zaino than anything else.

Re: 50 layers zaino picture

I'm pretty sure we'd have 3 pages of comments if someone posted the same pic and put "50 layers of zymol" or "50 layers of turtle wax". The idea of 50 layers of anything is kind of laughable no matter what the product.

I'd have to agree with ya Picus.

Waxing/sealing after every couple of washes is reasonable, but applying layer after layer of anything just silly.

I agree. It takes Zaino from being one of the easiest products to use to one of the most time-consuming and complicated.

Re: 50 layers zaino picture

I remember trying too talk to that guy about 2 years ago (if not more) about his "50th" layer. He is one of the biggest Zaino proponants I have ever had the misfortune of talking with. I ended up never revisiting the forums because of our disagreements.....lol

Re: 50 layers zaino picture

Hahahahahaha , quality...

Well the 50 layer picture was needed by me because i have simply set myself a goal to answer a few questions in my head with multi , multi layering to see what effedts it has and also if it will help with stone chipping issues etc.... I have a white ride and have to be honest after nearly 3 weeks of applying everyday minus one weekend after 6 layers my eye is not noticeing anything different but like i say its a personal goal for me so its enjoyable...

Shame my car wasnt black though as white is a mare to get massive improvement with..

Re: 50 layers zaino picture

I think it's kind of ironic (and funny) that the guy is catching crap from one of most detailing eccentric sites on the net. So what if he has 50 layers of XYZ product! So what if he really only "needs" 2. He could have 200 and I wouldn't care; in fact, I would envy him that he has the time, resources, and patience to do it for the fun of it. Isn't that what this site and detailing was "supposed" to be about, the fun??? Why take the fun away from it, if that's what someone enjoys? It's his car and his time. It just seems funny to me that of all the sites that you would "think" would be fine with it, instead beat him down about it. Or could it be that it's really just Zaino that is taking the beat down? Hmmmm

Re: 50 layers zaino picture

Thats my phiosophy Mike to be honest.... 3 weeks of my life spent in the garage for 5 hours a day every evening but i love it , then im gonna top with layers of crystal rock , am i concerned , hell no otherwise id have just put one on and forgotten about it....Doing x amount of layers on my car so far has taught me quite a few things good and bad and also will see if it stands the test of time like 5 layers of z royale did on my ride for 15 months....

This is 1 layer of Petes 53 on a car i did..

Now could it get any better?? Could it get a better depth??

How will i know if i dont try these insane detailing conundrums...

Give it a rest Mike. I don't see this thread as an attack in anyway against Zaino. I think it has to do with the issue of wheather 50 coats of any LSP are worth it. If the owner he has the time and takes the effort to do it then I praise him. If the purpose of the pic is to show how great 50 coats of an LSP looks like then I welcome other pics of side by sides. I then ask you to tell me which is which.

Re: 50 layers zaino picture

Give it a rest? After 1 post? Gee, funny how everyone else got to jump on him "without giving it a rest." And, 1 sentence of my 6 sentence paragraph alludes to Zaino, and 1 sentence necessitates a "give it a rest?" Wow. Just wow. I was merely making a point that the guy should be allowed to do whatever he wants for FUN, and not be criticized for it, especially coming from this site. You know, I can see something like this seen as rather excessive on something like, you know, the Better Homes and Gardens site, but here?

I don't see this as an "issue" of whether 50 is "worth it" or not. I would think that most people on this site would already KNOW the answer to that question, without having to run it into the ground (how about a rest there?). So, other that that, what is the issue with then? That's why I brought the one sentence Zaino question in there, which was apparantely to much for some to handle. lol

If we're not allowing detailing to be fun anymore without fear of criticisms, what are we doing here?
