I paid $4.16 for premium at BJ's today for $44.50. I need to be careful not to spend so much....I do drive speed limit so I can get at least 26mph city/hwy. If it's strictly hwy, I can get up to 31mph with AC on full blast. Can't go anywhere without AC.
So gas prices made me stop buying detailing products I don't need, and gas prices made me stop going out dining to places. I just eat fast food when I have no time to cook, but hell.. I would hate to drive 3miles just waste more gas a buy food. Something has to give.......

I cut the aggressiveness out of my driving, other than that gas prices haven't really affected things... heating oil on the other hand, is killing my parents. 1000ish gallons a winter to heat my house to 65, forget about how much if you want it comfortable. Firewood prices followed suit too.

I payed $4.27 last time a gallon (93) and total came in at $56.
Still doing ok. | You do realize that Exxon buys crude oil from the commodities market? You do realize that traders bid the price up based on fearmongering and colusion?

Our gas price here works out to 5.14 CAN a US gallon, it's high, but tolerable for me. I feel sorry for the trades people, as they need trucks but perhaps they will have to charge more for their services.
I don't think we can complain overall though. Compared to Europe, I think most of us are still well off with regards to housing (how many of us live in houses compared to apartments), mechanical transportation/toys (multiple vehicles per family, toys like sleds, quads, dirt bikes, etc), and of course, fuel price. It could be worse I guess is what I am getting at.

I don't drive like a maniac (never really have) and get about 24-25mpg on average in my mid-size 4 door. I would like to get something smaller at some point that gets 35+ mpg on average. Currently, I'm not driving many miles so its not too bad, for now. | |

If it were different, it would certainly cause me to adjust something.
$4.99/gal, self serve regular, at the Shell station in Stamford, CT. Ouch.

My issue is that 26 billion dollars of profit a year isn't enough for some.
