A scratch of a different animal...

Were closing on a new home around the 1st of the month and while there the last time with the home inspector we noticed in the living room which has the "floating laminate wood look" flooring, that someone apparently drug an object over the floor and left an obvious scratch in it about 6 ft long in an arch. Its not down to the actual wood material just in the top few layers of the protective coating and it isn't deep enough to put your finger nail in but deep enough a scratch finder like us would see it. I feel bad for the builder and would rather not go Thur the hassle of pulling it all up to swap out the scratched planks so any thoughts on how to make these disappear?


I could always run my flex over it??

Hey its a brand new house, would you accept a scratch on a brand new car? Let the builder take care of it. He has these cost built in his profit margin just like a car dealer does. Btw congrats on your new home.

I couldnt agree with you more. We just moved into a brand new house one week ago and it is 100% the builder's responsability to fix it. no question!

Yeah, thats what I would normally do except the builder will be my new neighbor so I am trying to keep things friendly plus I need a good quote from him on another detached garage for my toys...so I am looking for a method like we would use on our cars...thanks BTW.

The micro scratch I am talking about starts in the formal dining room and makes it way to the great room, you cant see it in this pic though...

I can unerstand your situation, but ask the builder what he would do to correct the scratch or find out who the manufactor is and e-mail them for an answer. You may doing more harm than good by trying to correct this problem. BTW beautiful home.
