Re: what's the most mileage you've gotten from a vehicle?

94 Honda Civic EX currently with 173k miles. Still going strong and to think I've never even gotten any scheduled maintenances (just oil changes)!

280,285 miles on my Accord when I sold it. The original engine was replaced at 156,000 miles with an engine that had 55,000 miles on it (engine had developed a light knock-probably a wrist pin), so when I sold the car, the replacement engine had 180,000 on it. The transmission was rebuilt at 190,000 miles and then 5 more time under warranty before I got a good used transmission instead.

The alternator made it to 175k, started to 255k, a/c compressor to 260k. Still have the original fuel pump when I sold it, interior had no squeaks or rattles, power windows/locks never failed, all the gauges worked perfectly, only had to replace one knob, etc.

Seriously considering buying another 4th gen Accord to use for work.

Re: what's the most mileage you've gotten from a vehicle?

Well, I had an '81 Ford Courier that I had until around 110K. Sold it when we were about to move to another state. More recently the wife's '96 Plymouth Voyager had 113K on it before an unfortunate accident that cost more than the vehicle was worth to repair.

My 2001 Mustang GT currently has 108K on it and not only is it on the original Engine/Trans, the only work the vehicle has ever required other than normal wear items is a replacement idle air control valve which cost me $96 to replace.

I expect to be able to post pretty much the same here in a few years when she hits 200K

Re: what's the most mileage you've gotten from a vehicle?

I though it was gas mileage my mistake . The most mileage I drove was a 1970 Ford, 145,000, a 1993 Dodge , 124,000 , a 1995 Chev. Astro Van , 131,000.

The longest I've kept a vehicle was for 11 years... my '97 F-150 had 93K on it when I sold her...

Re: what's the most mileage you've gotten from a vehicle?

My 97 Ford Exploder as 137k on it an my brother is driving it now. It has the dohc v6 which was new for that year and was supposedly very unreliable. All I had to do was change the oil once.

The only thing wrong with it is a dent in the rear quarter panel bc my brother backed it into a pole. The funny thing is that his friend was guiding him. I told him to get new friends.

My dad drove an 86 buick and an 88 oldsmobile to 180k with no problems. We got rid of em when we got a van and the exploder.

Re: what's the most mileage you've gotten from a vehicle?

I have a 1991 Isuzu Trooper, all original, that just turned 201k. I also have a 1992 Toyota Paseo with 160k+ on it right now. It still has the original everything, including the original clutch. The Trooper has cost me money through the years on things like a new radiator, oil cooler, goes through brakes like crazy, etc. The Paseo never needs anything other than tires and plugs, just the minor things.

A long time ago, I had an old Chevy Cavalier station wagon with over 200k on it, probably a mid 80's model. The engine eventually smoked and leaked oil like mad, but it was a good car for a long time.

Re: what's the most mileage you've gotten from a vehicle?

I bought a 1991 Mazda MPV (basic van, 4 cyl motor, windup windows, no cruise.... a real plain Jane). I just sold my monster gas guzzler Suburban (8-10 mpg on a down hill run with a tail wind).

I sold the MPV in 2004 with a whopping 294,000 miles for $800...never touched the engine, but rebuilt the trans at 150,000. It's still around delivering resturant meals in the KC area.

Great little van!

Re: what's the most mileage you've gotten from a vehicle?

I'm on my way to work in a second, but I literally just ran outside to the driveway to take these shots a second ago. This is my 1994 Acura Legend LS coupe 6-speed manual. I've owned it since 95,000 miles and bought it in early 2003.

Just about to turn over 327,000 miles on the ORIGINAL engine, transmission, and clutch. I have receipts to prove it! It's been a great car.

I have shared pics on here before, but it "only" had 302k on it at the time . I put on about 50,000 per year or more.
