Autopia commercialism

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put it but

It seems as if Autopia forums is not much liked, seen as overcommercialised and full of people who put on fake reviews just to sell stuff

Personally this current forum layout stinks but besides that, I have noticed that this place is not the same one I joined seven years ago
These days most of my time is spent at Detailing World & Detailing bliss due to a better layout, nicer people etc

I reckon alot of the people that were here four to seven years ago are gone and the place has lost it's appeal

The time to move on to a better place has just about arrived I think, seven years perhaps is enough

Re: Autopia commercialism

I cannot imagine this thread will be around long. At any rate, there are not very many members from 'our' era anymore. There's a lot of reasons for it some of which may be yours.. and others may just be tired of talking about detailing cars.

As with any internet forum the conversations end up circular. The same conversations get had time and time again.

Is this somebody's kid pulling a prank or something? That many posts but that kind of attitude doesn't seem to add up

I would only assume that for every 3 members that leave, 10 more members join, and the "fish" (newb) that are around, have transitioned into seasoned senior members by the time the complaining seniors have left.

Not sure if the site seems less pure nowadays (especially since I'm new). But I hope the veterans hang around as the new guys like me really really appreciate the experience and advice. Its taken me a while to understand how to really 'detail' a car and then actually attempt to achieve such high Autopian standards with my washes n details.

No worries. There are plenty of seasoned detailers here ready to offer help, that i do not see going anywhere.

Autopia is like the New York of the USA. All type of personalities. Some people can't handle the city life and prefer the small town living.

I find this rather ironic coming from a member who just came off of a two-week timeout for promoting his own product.

Since you're moving on to greener pastures, you won't be needing your account any longer. I should have just banned you for spamming in the first place . . . so much for giving you the benefit of the doubt.
