Cool talk about diversity...

Ok, so I’m sitting at my desk at work messing with a gizmo for the factory and I’m looking at one of the electronic connectors to figure out where to get spare parts for it.

The connectors are pretty standard IDC headers made by ITW Pancon:

Wait a sec, ITW? That ITW?

So I go check out the ITW Corporate website and sure enough, it’s the same company that owns AutoWaxCo, the detailing products company that owns Clay Magic (and all the patents for detailing clay).

Looking down the list shows they own a whole boatload of companies all over the map (figuratively and geographically). They have divisions on every continent but Antarctica and make everything from detailing products to electronic components, manufacturing equipment, packaging equipment, construction products, automotive chemicals (besides the car wax) and a whole wad of other stuff.

Clay and banana wax not enough fer ya? How about a Binks HVLP spray gun? A Ramset powder actuated tool? A Wolf restaurant cooktop? And since you never know when you’ll be needed for that next covert op, better stock up on those handy little goodies every warfighter needs.

PC.

Re: talk about diversity...

Yeah, I guess that's the definition of a conglomerate. A bit different than the strategy of some other big companies who buy up all the competition in their field, as well as related fields.

I need some Warrior Wipes! lol

Actually, those connectors remind me of Mork's suspenders.
