But I just made some mashed potatoes and they are just the most wonderful things in the world.
Yeah, I've been cooking a lot more of late. We'll see where this take us.

Here's a picture of a white loaf I baked, as well as a load of Banana bread. Oh, the entire house was filled with the aroma of banana bread when it was baking - a full hour.

today I smoked 2 rack of spare ribs(that sat in my spice rub for 24 hrs) over red oak chips for an hour then cherry wood for 5 hours then grilled with my homemake spicy BBQ sauce to finish them off and since I had the grill going I made cornbread from scratch in a castiron pan
and served it all with a side steamed broccoli
last nite I made a large pot of Jambalaya
so we will be eating good this weekend.. lots of leftovers

I used a very simple recipe, no measurements: milk (1-2 cups), butter (1-2 tbsp), salt (1 tbsp), and pepper (1 tsp). It was just plain delicious - especially considering I've been eating a lot of KD lately (Kraft Dinner for non-Canadian folks).
Sounds like you've got the cooking bug, too. How did you smoke those spare ribs?

I know it's not supposed to be, but I love it like that. I'm not much of a cook either, but I can do a few things. It's pretty fun.

Life can not get any better then grilling. I absolutely love to grill out, heck I'm going to do it this weekend if weather permits.

Torrential rain is the only weather that is not suited for grilling IMO (snow is OK). Today was turkey, last weekend spareribs on Saturday and Black Angus beef roast marinated in whisky, molasses, & Worcestershire sauce on Sunday.

I love grilling too, but chose the convenience of gas (I know, I know). My wife thought I was nuts spending $1k on a grill until she saw it: 304 grade stainless, brass burners, side burner, rotisserie, rotisserie burner, smoke box with dedicated burner.
