I decided to get a 335xi so I can say, "me too", when people ask what kind of car I have.

I think in world of cool as in are they happening then the answer is probably no, the Mini has joined the world of the BMW 3 series in being one of the most popular cars on the road in my country! They lack chache and unique to really stand out as a cool car.

The S is pretty hot of course b/c it its one of the fastest you can get!

But are they still in cool in ways that they look funky are fun to drive, you can pick millions of different options and they do the job like no other car on the market? THEN YES THEY ARE COOL FROM THAT PERSPECTIVE!

Id have one in a pinch

OH! You guys get way different engines to what we do in the United Kingdom.

Our MX5's/Miatas have a 2.0 150BHP unit and the Cooper S has a Peugeot-Citroen 1.6L Turbo Charged engine build in alliance with BMW.

Having drive the Chrysler Powered Supercharged the one the 1.6 PSA-BMW unit is much more alive. It more flexible and revs better, power delivery is smooth as well and the auto box is much much better! The turbo charged models are sweet, there are few other versions as well a 1.4 and a tuned 1.6L.

A little off topic, but my buddy just put down 707HP on a DynoJet with his 8,000LB Dodge/Cummins. Another one is running low 10's in the 1/4.

Ha! Yea I guess a lot OT, all the talk of HP numbers just got me all excited. BTW I would make a decision other than the Mini, I just dont care for them. <-----A little more on topic.
