HD Total - 2005 Honda Accord

I'm not professional detailer so i don't charge for clean-ups (maybe i should).
But it's more than just a casual interest... Like most of you, I'm also very
particular about the products/chemicals involved in my line of work.

This vehicle is in for a budget (aftermarket) hood and bumper replacement job.
Sometimes, it can be a real pain getting it ready for paint. I'm a small shop
and need to be efficient as possible and multi-purpose (effective) products
are a must.

Although I could, I'm not going for a thorough clean-up. Just getting it
adequately cleaned to mask off for paint. And i do another quick clean
after the paint/body work. OK, on with the pics...

Engine:

Wheels/tires:

Interior:

It was nasty and neglected for a long time. And, odds are, it will be
nasty and neglected again so it's hard to put in the effort when
the owner's son wont care for it. A good caring father who came to
me to make his son a bit happier. It was a $1,400 job reduced to $1,100...

I have much more to say but i'll keep things brief for now.

HD Total... Impressive! Looking forward to trying out more of the HD line.

Since you mentioned it, 1100 bucks?

Was that what you charged? I hope those are before and before - "a bit better shots." The car is trashed but there is streaking on the dash and the barrels of the wheels are still dirty.

If I misread, please ignore...

Re: HD Total - 2005 Honda Accord

AuAltima3.5, please reread what i wrote and look past the photos.
As far as "detailing" goes, for me, it's something i do NOT charge for.
That along with the discounted work is a huge bargain for my customer.

Please don't think that I'm incapable of doing a thorough detailing job either.
I'm quite capable/confident. And, unlike many, I'm not embarrassed to show
my "flaws." Just keeping my hypocrisy to a minimum too...

Re: HD Total - 2005 Honda Accord

Nice test. I'm really please that you decided to use HD TOTAL everywhere on the car. I've had a lot of people say "What, you want me to use an engine cleaner on my fine leather... Are you NUTS!"

I'm thrilled how a bit of new thinking in the design of a chemical can actually improve performance, increase finish safety, and kick the snot out of past eco-related issues.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review the product, post picks and give your feedback!

Re: HD Total - 2005 Honda Accord

Thanks David.

Obviously, this is a very "quick" test. Choosing the filthiest car at the shop
was a good idea (they're not all as dirty). Whether the HD Total actually
"cleans" isn't in question anymore. But i do have many more questions
regarding the entire line. I'll wait til the Pro line comes out.

Exciting stuff!

Re: HD Total - 2005 Honda Accord

"One 2 oz. bottle of HD TOTAL Concentrate makes 24 fluid ounces of ready-to-use spray. "

I'll have to try Megs at different dilutions but at 4:1 it's comparable to HD TOTAL.
But, I wouldn't use Megs Super Degreaser for interiors; their APC at 10:1 works
great. Wait til the HD Pro Line comes out. If the prices are in line, then HD would
be the way to go.
