Great thread Dave! That's a tremendous amount of work you put into this.
I was surprised as some of the results, like AIO. I've never used it on anything but a polished surface, so I don't have any personal experience with it and swirls... but I was always under the impression that it wouldn't do much at all. You definitely seemed to have filled/polished (I thought it was non-filling and non-abrasive ) some of the defects very well.

Cheers, I enjoy doing things like this. Especially like demonstrating detailing in public though - signed up for do rotary machine polishing demonstrations at a Scottish Detailing Day in October.

Awesome writeup!
What did you use to apply the products and how much of it was used for each application?

Meguiars foam applicator pads (a new one for each product), and about a 5p piece (1-1.5cm dia) blob of product applied to the pad.
Additional cvut can be had from using German applicator pads, and you can also use more aggressive cutting products with these like Intensive Polish. I will be testing this shortly.

should have taken some shots of each spot, after a wash, and see if the fillers went away

Do you know if the AIO you guys have out in the UK is the same as the one on the US market? I know the US formula changed to be quite a bit less abrasive with the new VOC-compliant formulation.

I think they also changed the one we have in the UK also, as it has been much discussed in the UK the the current AIO is far less strong cleanser wise than it used to be...
