Looking for some XMT 360

Hey everyone,
I am looking to maybe make a trade or buy enought XMT 360 for one pick up truck. It is a Ford Ranger.

I would think 8 oz. would do it.

I have to trade:

Optimum Polish
Optimum Compound
SSR 2
SSR 1

Please let me know,

Thanks

Jim

Can't help you since I only got the 12 oz... but I did my car with about an ounce.. maybe less. (Mazda 6.. i.e. bumpers painted). You could probably get by with 3-4oz.

Re: Looking for some XMT 360

wow really, how much are you applying to the pad per panel.

How much are you applying onthe initial dry pad and then after its "primed" how much are you applying?

thanks

Jim

Re: Looking for some XMT 360

I primed the pad with XMT pad conditioner (love that stuff). I applied about 2-3 pea sized dots per panel (Edge blue wave/6in/PC) and spread without machine on I then just worked it in at 5 until it almost cleared. I could never really get it to completely clear out like they claim and did have to give a light wipe with a short nap mf.

I do feel like it has some pretty good filling abilities. No way with my pressure and work time was I removing some of the marring that was absent under the halogens afterwards.

You say the 360 may have some fillers in it ..do you think it does corrections and fills at the same time ..I have seen some pics that show some really swirled paint and after 360 it was pretty clean of swirls...so I my self wondered if it filled while correcting...I asked this question on AG forum ..if it had fillers..but never got a answer....

Re: Looking for some XMT 360

I'm eventually going to do an IPA wipedown on a test spot...

Best guess: fills and corrects a bit at the same time. Ratio? No clue. I haven't polished in over a year and am dealing with some pretty good micromarring that seems to be completely gone. I don't buy that the 360 did that with a blue edge. If I was using a green, then I might be more inclined to say it has some correcting.

Here's my best evidence of fillers....

If I wiped too hard after application, i could literally see where I had wiped the product off of the paint. If I wiped lightly, it seemed to stay on the paint and have a very uniform and suprisingly non-sterile look. Almost like 105 with AW. I let it sit overnight and came back. Any hard wiping did not show the same results as before. I hope I'm explaining myself here. Could be the product hadn't broken down enough, not quite sure.

Regardless, I'm happy with the product, especially on black. Did I leave it be? No, I topped with CMW as I'm having to wait a few more months to do any correcting on the entire car because of a repainted panel (did not use 360 on it)... CMW seems to fill pretty well on its own accord.

I probably like the Poorboy's stuff better, but I do have more experience with it.
