I bought the 1000W on black Friday. Quite pleased with that purchase!

Re: 500 watt tripod at sears for $10 or 1000watt for $20

After reading this thread, I went to Sears the day after black Friday and fiund the mre expensive lights still marked at $19.99. When I went to pay for them the cashier said it was $24.95 and I told him they were marked as $19.99. He asked me to get the sticker and when I briought it back he said that the sticker was supposed to have been removed, but since I saw it at that price, Sears would honor it.
I took it home and started to assemble it and when I got to inserting the lamps, I found that the nut casted into the back of the lamp had been broken off. So, I took it back and got a replacement. I took it home and the first thing I opened was the tripod which had a broken plastic piece at the top of one of the legs of the tripod. One more trip back to Sears to trade out the broken tripod for the good tripod in the box with the broken cast nut. Finally, I got back home and continued assembling the light when I found one of the pieces which controls the heighth of the light was cracked about 1/2 half way through. In my estination, this crack did not and would not in the future be a problem, so I finished the assembly with the hope that in the future I won't find any more shoddy workmanship. The concept is good, but I question the quality.
