Best pricing on PC

Hi, a friend is looking for a PC. It seems like prices have gone up a bit in the past few months. Don't really know where to tell this person to look. I checked on line at Lowe's (NC) and the search engine finds nothing - - perhaps all Lowe's stores don't have it??

He's looking for a bundle which would incl. the PC, backing plate and 2 pads.

Any guidance?

Thanks.

Lowe's won't sell bundles with a backing plate and pads. Try one of the online vendors listed in the sponser section, they should have a PC and pad kit.

This one has a couple more pads, at Detailer's Paradise . PC 7336 is $120 by itself. If you can stand double shipping, a good pad/backing plate bundle is this one at Excel .

thanks. Yes, I do realize Lowe's won't have the appropriate pads. I would prefer to steer the person to a single source that will have the whole deal.

Do most Lowe's sell the PC - - I am not very familiar with their product offerings?

You can usually find 1 or 2 on eBay, probably max $100. Grab the Propel Pad kit from excel detail for $30 and you're set.

seems like they have it in NC. I have to tell the search works really oddly. the results are almost hidden in what looks like advertising blocks.

here's the result from searching porter cable, then clicking porter cable at lowes.com, then palm grip sanders, then entering the zip code for durham. I don't know your area, so I couldn't put that in.

here's a 10% off coupon that you can get by filling in information, the coupon comes via email:

thanks a lot, mataku, that's very cool. The search engine at Lowe's is a joke. He's just in Chapel Hill and it appears to be available in his area.

Setec, thanks for the link to excel...that looks like it will work.

Check out meguiarsonline.com forum, some times they run a special on their G-100 for $149 which is a rebadged PC 7224 that comes with the velcro backing plate and pad and has a lifetime warranty and good customer service. Consider that buying a PC 7224 for $120 plus shipping and then buying the pads elsewhere for $30 plus shipping again may not be the best bargain. Also, who can he call if he has a question, Porter Cable is not going to answer a detailing question but Meg's customer support will.

Well, they almost never have that deal, plus, IMO, the Meg's backing plate stinks.

well I actually got mine for about 91$ + 67$ for pads. However, I got quite a bit of pads. I was able to get the kit they had along with an extra green pad from exceldetail. THe lifetime warranty meguiars sounds like a good deal though. As for the support, I don't think it gets much better than autopia
