Shop Vac!!!

I posted this exact thread on MOL and I figured that you guys should get to take advantage of it too:

I've been in the market for a shop vac for a long time now. I was looking for a fairly inexpensive one (<$100), local or with extremely low shipping rates, powerful, durable and not too bulky/heavy. Well, today my prayers were answered!

My local Pep Boys had a sale on a 4gal Snap-on shop vac. $60! That's right, $60 for a Snap-on shop vac. It comes with four attachments, a blower option and its wet/dry! I am in love. I tried it out on a car matt today (its raining so no go on the whole car) and it is really powerful. It feels pretty sturdy, I have heard a lot of good things about the company Snap-on and it is not too heavy and big so transporting to location will not be a problem. Also, the hose stretches out to the length you need without getting all tangled and wrapping around everything.

Anyone looking for a good shop-vac needs only to look to their closest Pep Boys, see if its on sale at the Pep Boys near you!

This is the one:

Here you go guys, sorry bout that. I used it today on a matt that I cleaned with APC, it came out wonderful. The thing is so powerful for its size.

I'm pretty sure it has its own filters. I saw them at Pep Boys next to the vac, I will double check though.

Re: Shop Vac!!!

Not sure what kind of warranty these come with but home depot carries the Rigid one (4 or 5 gallons) with a strong 5hp engine for about 100$CA so probably around 85$US and its life time warranty. I'd personally rather pay a little extra for something thats going to be good for a lifetime as oppose to coughing up more money every 5 years or so.

Hey, I'm sure that's a great vac for what it is, but it's NOT a Snap-On product. In the great tradition of American manufacturing, Snap-On has sold out and lent their name to imported consumer products which have nothing to do with the legendary Snap-On name and tradition. Once upon a time, even Snap-On wouldn't put their name on products they sold which they didn't make, those were the Blue Point tools.

Go read the fine print on the "Honeywell" heaters and humidifiers at HD and Lowe's, or the "AT&T" or "GE" and "RCA" phones in the electronics stores if you want to know what I'm talking about.
