Gliptone Clay Bar

Hey y'all, I want to share what a choice find I had with the Gliptone clay bar. Compared to other clay products I have used (four now) this Gliptone brand is the best and the price seems best to boot.

I got it direct through Amazon at Amazon.com: Gliptone Body Bar Spray and Clay System -- Step 1: Automotive

If yer interested, y'all can see my review here: Autopia Review: Detailing Clay: Gliptone Body Bar Spray and Clay System

I don't know about the old school products, cuz I wasn't detailing my own cars then, but my pal swears it the same as an elastic clay (dunno what that means) he has. All I know is this thing worked wonders on my old truck this weekend.

Charlie

Re: Gliptone Clay Bar

Gliptone is a Northeast thing. They have so so products. They are everywhere by me. I haven't tried their clay though.

I see it is sold by Autobarn on that Amazon link. That place has very good pricing on car care stuff and free shipping over $50.00. They sell the cheapo stuff up to P21s and Zymol.

Re: Gliptone Clay Bar

I have allot of Gliptone products. Most of them are relegated to back-up products or get used in places that I wouldn't want to waste my expensive stuff. There leather care products are among some of the best I've ever used though.
I also like their clay. It's a bit of a different texture than the other stuff I've used and it seems to do a really good job of pulling out contaminants. My only complaint is that if you don't use allot of lube with it, it sticks to the body a little more than the other brands I've used. Overall, its a good product and if you can get it cheap, its worth it. The Streetrod Store in West Berlin, NJ is the cheapest place to get Gliptone products that I've found.

Re: Gliptone Clay Bar

i agree the clay is firm and i think thats what i like, cuz it does not mush out.

i did not use the lube supplied cuz it was not enuf for my truck. i used a bucket of wash water and a sponge and had no stick issues at all.
