A bought a whole bunch of these at Big Lots over a year ago, but I should have just returned most of it. I got carried away when I saw the $2.50 price tag. It's a very poor tire cleaner. Supposedly, the product marketing behind this says that it will leave your tires looking natural, but I've always found the need to dress the tires afterwards.

Here's how I've been using it:

1. Clean wheels and tires using wheel and tire cleaner of choice.
2. Rinse.
3. Wash car and rinse.
4. Before I dry my car, I spray the NXT Tire Cleaner on all 4 tires and let it sit.
5. Dry car.
6. When I'm done with drying the car, I wipe down the tires to reveal a nice, clean tire and also dry up any water remaining on the tire.
7. Dress tire.

cleaning and dressing the tires are two different things
so you are cleaning your tires in steps 1 & 4
if it is still cleaning in step 4 after you cleaned the tires in step 1
then I would have to think it is a good cleaner

also not sure it is a good idea to leave this on the tire

i bought some of this a while back, and was pretty disappointed. it's just about the same as using an APC...

Go buy a can and see for yourself how poor it is as a tire cleaner. While you're at it, compare it to Eagle One All Wheel & Tire cleaner ($5) or any good degreaser for that matter. You don't get any of the brown ooze coming out like with a good tire cleaner.

In my first step, I forgot to mention that by cleaning your tires, I mean scrubbing it clean, not just spraying on a cleaner and expecting it to do all the work. This is where the product fails as it doesn't get rid of all the gunk that's on your tires, even with good scrubbing. You can get better results alone with soap and scrubbing, which in my experience isn't all that great when the tires have a lot of gunk on it.

The only reason why it's in my process is I have way too many cans to use up. It's not even a necessary step, but I'm using it as a base coat similar to what Justin was doing with AA Tire Foam.

I haven't seen any ill effects from leaving it on the tires. Whatever is in it seems mild at best, as it really doesn't do much cleaning at all (keep in mind I also wipe it off). I'm sure most solvent-based dressings would have a greater effect on the tire, if there's any, as I've yet to experience any issues with most solvent-based dressing. By the time any of these products could possibly ruin your tires you will have probably changed your tires before then.

Just came back from Big Lots and they have the Quick Wheel Detailer for $3.50. I have used it quite alot and I like it. I hope that they are not planning to discontinue it. I also picked up one can of the tire cleaner, but judging by what was said about it, I will return it and get another bottle of the Quick Wheel detailer.

Have you guys seen any Versa-Angle brushes at you local Big Lots. I found a long handled Wheel Face Brush and then nothing else. I wish that Megs still made their versa-brushes.
