Autozone free products???

I went to Autozone last night and ended up getting some free stuff because apparently I spent enough. I don't know if it has anything to do with that reward loyalty card or if they just started doing this. I went to two different Autozones, so that I can get 2 credits on my card. The first one I got new rotors for my dad's card around $60 and at checkout the guy mumbled something and put a 3 pack of that STP gas treatment in my bag. I was like thanks but not thanks as he was saying it's good for the winter thinking he was trying to sell it to me, but then he said no it's free because of how much you spent. He also threw in 2 jars of that heavy duty hand cleaner creme. He also told me how many more credits I needed for the $20 card, meaning that purchase counted towards it. I was really surprised and quite happy. I then went to another Autozone that I usually go to and bough the brake pads. Same thing happened except he threw in a bunch of those brake lube packets to prevent squeaky brakes.

I'm not sure why they did this if it's a temporary program or something for the new year. I've bought other stuff that has cost more and never received random free products. I was also wondering if it had to do with my loyalty card because both times I gave that to them first then they got the stuff.

I though I'd post this up for anybody looking to buy car parts at Autozone. Maybe you'll get lucky and get some free stuff, just make sure to get that rewards card from them.

Re: Autozone free products???

Wait..you went to two different AutoZone stores for the same brake job? I know that RSX gets good mileage, but I thought only I did stuff like that (and that's only trying to get to all the Wal-Marts or Targets before Spilchy cleans them out :P ).

lol I went to two different Autozones so that I got two credits on my rewards card. Next one I get a free gift card. The first one is literally 5 minutes away from my house; and the other one is right across the river in the neighboring town (10 minutes) away. Don't ask me how far and how many Wal-Marts I went to looking for NXT though
